highest TV ratings of the entire year. Pro Football is a sport sold to the blue
collar working class American. How is this TV and sporting event far
removed from the working class Americans whom it is sold to? Could the
average American afford to attend the game?
2.) With more and more emphasis yearly being put into the commercials aired
during the event. Who is receiving the praise for these advertisements? Is it
local ads or a more centralized set of corporations selling its products? How
many products are locally owned vs. corporate?
3.) Super bowl parties are now a cultural staple to the nation. When thinking of
products in the last few weeks at Dept. Stores, grocery stores and TV ads
what items are being sold that need to be used during the party?
4.) The major U.S. networks ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX compete yearly to get the
exclusive rights to air the Super Bowl. Spending millions to have the big game on their network.
Why is securing these games rights under such large
terms so important to the networks?
