Also, by placing the control group side by side with the experimental group, studying large groups of people as well as using statistical analysis of the resulting data which “the researchers provide very strong sample inclusion and exclusion criteria that limit the potential effects of extraneous variables and improve the representativeness of the sample” (Grove, 2012).
